We designed a number of shop windows and visual identities for small shops and entrepeneurs in the Van der Pekstraat in Amsterdam Noord, commissoned by housing corporation Ymere.
Most fun of these shop windows was the dentist. We set up a small photo studio around the corner from the dentist, and pulled people from the street to take their picture. By way of experiment, armed with an ipad with numerous ‘funny images’, we tried to make the locals burst out in laughter in front of the camera by showing them these images. Half of the time the sheer ridiculousness of our efforts and the situation they suddenly found themselves in proved to be more than enough for a proper laugh.
